The Boswell's Visit

We had just enough time to go to the grocery store & throw in some laundry before we started round #3 in our back to back to back adventure (Howards/Vietnam/Boswells). Did I mention Brent had to fly out to Bangkok for work early the next morning? I pretty much went solo for the week with my sister and her family, but hey, I think I'm an expert now.

Our first stop Monday morning was the flower market.

I love the colors and varieties here.

Tulips.

Irises.

I think the Boswells were impressed too.

Also at the flower market is what I call the Korean Hobby Lobby. Since the first time I came here, I knew I'd bring Sarah when she visited.

After shopping it was lunch time. At the Express Bus Terminal I gave them 2 options: pizza or mandu (dumplings). Mom & Dad picked mandu against the kid's wishes. But once the food arrived, we had to order more because everyone love it!

Then, a trip next door to check out Shinsegae (a high-end department store). The B1 level has a grocery store and some great food choices. Jimmy let the kids pick a dessert. Kate & Jack chose ice cream...

...and Luke. Luke wanted to try kimbap (similar to a sushi roll). Even after he was told that it wasn't a dessert. It only took one tiny taste to generate this face! Luke then got an ice cream.

Since the Samsung D'light store had been such a hit for my brother, I decided to take our little Intel Engineer for a look too.

I bet Sarah is glad that she doesn't have one of these on her fridge back home!

The next day, I took them up to the embassy. Here's Ambassador Boswell fielding questions from the obnoxious media. She must be from CNN.

Too far.

The Boswells & the U.S. Embassy.

Jogyesa Temple was next. There was a service taking place while we were there.

Then over to our favorite Korean spot in Insadong. It may look all the same, but this pork was the best Korean thing I've eaten here!

Happy customers!

Such a cute restaurant. If you've been reading all my blogs, I bet you can guess what happened next...

...poop pastries!!

And next, poop museum!!

Including many photo opportunities!

At the end of the tour, if you're tall enough, you shoot down this slide. It's steep and fast!

Next, we headed down the street for fish pedicures.

Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Although, maybe it was a bit too ticklish for Jimmy.

Had to get Kate some cat ears.

We went home to get the boys and headed out to Itaewon. We stopped at one of our favorite places, Line Friends.

And, of course, no cousin visit is complete without some Gacha Balls!

Wednesday morning I sent them to the Korean War Memorial while I went to my bible study and then we went to Seoul Tower. I promised Kate that I'd take her to do the Hanbok Experience. Little did I know I'd be participating too!

We probably had too much fun!

I think Luke thought these were ninja clothes?!

Straight faces were kept for about 2 seconds.

Pretty girl.

She wants this framed in her room :).

Seoul Sistas!!

It was all fun and games until we had to walk outside. This hiking group wanted a photo with us.

Jack had decided by this point to join in the fun.

Jimmy's first time kissing a Korean girl.

Best.Picture.Ever.

And since no one was completely worn out yet, we picked up the boys and headed out to dinner at the Lotte World Mall.

Riding the metro over the Han River. Luke is 8 days older than the twins!

Surprise! Coolest grownups ever!! The Boswell kids love marking new HRCs off their list.

Cousins take the stage.

And just outside the mall is the Lotte Tower- 5th largest building in the world.

Thursday morning we sent mom & dad to the DMZ...

...while Aunt Rachel took the kiddos mini golfing...

...and bowling! I was told by all 3 kids that I am their coolest aunt.

Jimmy and Sarah made it back & we went to Myeongdong for the evening to try some street food.

And I had to subject myself to the cat café again. Look at Luke!!

Col. Kitty.

Stop. Gross.

What can I say? It's a hit, but twice is enough for me!

No, thank you. Yummy hotteok (fried pancake with cinnamon sugar)

She loved it!

The egg bun. Our favorite.

Jack wanted some more of those delicious dumplings. While debating what to get, I caught little brother doing what he does best.

Yum!

Not sure the squid was a winner.

Cousins love tornado potatoes!!!

What a fun night and week so far. Brent gets back tomorrow and we didn't slow down!

Coming up: Part 2
