How much can we possibly fit into 3 days you ask?...
The boys were off Friday so we took the Boswells to Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Gwanghwamun Gate- the U.S. Embassy is just to the left on the other side.
The king's throne.
I love all the doors and windows at the palaces and temples.
The triplets.
The building in the background is a museum. We checked it out.
Jimmy loves museums. Seriously.
Sarah & Jimmy went to look at some more exhibits while I took the kids to children's area.
Hayden made this same wish earlier in the week at the Lotte World Mall.
Jimmy is the official photographer for the fam.
The Blue House (equivalent to the White House in America) sits just beyond the back side of the palace walls.
We walked back across the grounds to catch the metro.
And it's not a complete trip without Street Churros! Later that night Brent came home from Bangkok & took Sarah & Jimmy out on the town.
Early Saturday, we rode the bullet train south to Ulsan to see the Hyundai factory and a couple other cool sights.
No pictures allowed on the tour, but this is what it looks like at the docks. On average, they make 5,600 cars every day of the year!
These two were worn out.
Our next stop was lunch and a stroll around Daewangam Park.
The cherry blossoms were just starting to bloom here where it's a bit warmer than Seoul.
The East Sea.
Look at al those container ships!
We had to go down and touch the water.
Haenyeo- (Korean female divers) dive here and sell the catch of the day. However, there weren't any working that day.
The kitty lovers.
It was just so beautiful and we did not get enough time there.
Hyundai Heavy Industries in the background. HHI is the world's largest ship building company.
And the kids had just enough time to go down this awesome slide a time or two.
Our last stop was Taehwa River Seepri Bamboo Grove.
It was a little less enjoyable since it was raining, but still pretty none the less.
Time to catch the KTX home.
Our last full day I sent Brent to take Sarah & Jimmy to see the giant golden Buddha in Bukhansan National Park. The kids needed to rest. Aunt Rachel too.
After they returned, we went to Noryangjin Fish Market. This is the old building.
Kate checking out the crabs.
We didn't purchase anything, but some of the vendors were happy to show the kids the fish.
Then over to the new building.
After the market, the Boswells requested their favorite Korean food one last time. First an appetizer of dumplings.
Hayden was not a fan.
Steaming dumplings.
And grilled pork in Insadong.
This picture is traditionally found behind the king's throne. I've bought a small print for my King home.
Another great visit and a bittersweet last Korean hosting gig, but the time has come...
...to say goodbye Boswells!!!
Visiting their new home in Oregon will be our first stop out of Korea. Cant wait!!
