With lots of visitors and 2 trips, this seems like a year ago, but I still wanted to share pictures from a little getaway we took Presidents Day weekend. I've got to get my blog up to date before pack out!
First stop, Pyeongchang. We won't still be here for the Olympics next February, but it was cool to check out the progress & location.
I was surprised how little snow there was. They definitely make most of it.
Snow blower at the cross country track.
My little Olympians.
Athlete Village.
Location for the opening & closing ceremonies.
As we were driving around the mountains (nothing like my Rockies), I had to laugh at the runaway truck ramps. So flat...
..and short!
We got tickets to watch a men's ice skating competition.
Even the drainage system is getting ready.
The ice rink. That's our friend Makayla. Her family joined us on our trip.
Hockey arena.
We weren't prepared for this to last 4 hours! But, we ended up enjoying it.
No surprise here.
The crowd went wild for this guy! He received so much swag that they had to carry it off in large trash bags. I'm pretty sure he was Japanese. It was a few months ago.
After the ice skating (I do remember the American won), we drove over to the coast which is about 30 minutes away. We had been to this little beach before with the stranded cruise ship inspired hotel, but wanted to show the ocean to our friends for the first time.
Uggs on the beach.
Probably our favorite thing to do together- collect shells & sea glass.
Makayla & Colter
The 2 big boys just had to run across the parting water. I think they got wet.
Me taking pictures of the silly boys.
With friends around, you can actually be in a photo or 2.
The boys looove the ocean.
Come on. How cute is this?!
At our Korean hotel, wearing slippers.
Most hotels are either a combination of a bed and sleeping mats or just all mats. Grant wanted to sleep in the storage closet.
Our view. This resort is Phoenix Park.
Ready to get their ski on!
They couldn't be any cuter walking in those boots. I hate those boots. I always say I'll become a true skier when they make those boots more comfortable. Who's with me?
I stayed off skis so I could be more helpful with the boys on the practice areas.
Olympic half pipe.
Grant was ready to test out a run.
He zoomed by me so fast as he came barreling straight down the hill- straight for the ice and scared his mother to death. He was thrilled.
Dad! You were supposed to stay with him! Wonder where G gets it from?
We all took the gondola up the mountain.
No snow.
I know I look so stupid, but the wind was freezing and my eyes were watering so bad, I hijacked B's goggles!
The twins and I warmed up.
And Colter & I rode back down. He wasn't feeling it.
After lunch, My friend and I took the kids to the water park & left the daddies to go down some real runs.
I could have stayed all day. It was the perfect temperature.
We went to meet the guys, grabbed a bite to eat & headed home to Seoul.
I know Brent enjoyed getting a Presidents Day ski in post Colorado ;).
