F This, F That

Recently I visited the fish market, the fabric market and the flower market all in one week. For those of you who thought I was going to go on a rant based on the title of this blog, shame on you! But, I made you look!

The fish market. We weren't brave enough to buy any, but we had fun exploring.

How cute is she?!

This section was already chopped and seasoned, but not cooked.

I think the large barrels are crab meat, those brown ones at the bottom, I don't want to know.

And this all looks spicy!

You can take your purchases upstairs and have it cooked and served with traditional sides at a number of restaurants. We only looked.

But we did sample some local food- mainly kid approved goodies- afterwards.

Chicken & Beer restaurants are popular so we stopped at one. This was called "snow" chicken. I thought it was parmesan, but I'm still not sure what it was as it also had a sweet taste to it.

Next up, fabric. If you want to sew or craft, look no further.

Buttons,

Bows,

Fabric,

& Ribbon!

Seven stories, hundreds of vendors...

Embellishments,

Lace,

They've got it all!

You could really get lost here. And if you like something, better just buy it because good luck finding where it was- says the girl with no inner compass.

My guide :).

My fabric purchase. Wrong country, I know.

Last but not least, the flower market. My favorite!

Prices weren't bad compared to the US, but they didn't compare to Ecuador where we used to buy 25 long stem roses for just a few bucks.

I had never seen flowers like these. The blossoms that were closed, were square instead of round.

They even have a whole fake flower section.

Plus vases, ribbons, etc.

Their picks. To get them excited about going, I told them they had to help me pick out flowers, so when it came time to buy, they were dead set on picking them out. These were beautiful, but maybe next time I'll get what I want.

The group- taken by a 5 year old :/.

I would love to take credit, but Brent is the flower designer in this house. Hope it's ok that I just put that out there.

So I'm learning that pretty much whatever you want, there is a market or an alley, dedicated just to that. Toy alley, baker's alley, a craft market, pottery, etc. It's excessive, it's all shoved together, it's overboard, but I love it. I'm American after all. And married to a Texan. What's that commercial? More is more? ;)
