The Beavers' Visit Part 2

Tuesday we rode the subway over to the US Embassy. Hi Uncle Brent!

Lena, Bryce & Brady meeting the Olympic mascots Soohorang and Bandabi.

Underground there is a Hangul museum we checked out. These shots were funny because everyone had a nice smile except Brady. He thought they should be serious, so here it is!

After we met Brent, we went to Jogyesa Temple.

These mums look like the mountains seen from Seoul.

Getting a peek at Buddha.

Then we had a traditional Korean lunch in Insadong.

This was entertaining ;).

Bryce wasn't a big fan of lunch so Uncle Brent bought him a poop pastry.

Can't make this stuff up. And I'm not joking when I tell you the man made grunting noises as he passed them over.

The next morning, I had to take Grant to the doctor for a follow-up on his foot. Afterwards, I met the Beavers at Gyeongbokgung Palace.

I watched the changing of the guards while I waited for them. I didn't pay to go in because they were freezing and ready to move on.

Our next stop was the fabric market. These ladies are staring at the little red head.

Lunch!- Kimbap (similar to sushi)

I think Lena liked everything. Definitely her father's child.

This section of the market sells fabric for Hanboks- traditional Korean dresses.

I took the kids to my boys' favorite booth.

They each picked out a trinket.

Next stop was the fish market. I think the boys enjoyed this much more.

Brady picked out some shrimp & they led us to a little restaurant where they cooked & served it.

We got our babysitter to come over so we could enjoy some adult time on Itaewon. Bekah picked up this sweater a couple nights before. She'll always remember the cat café!

This place was awesome for two reasons. One, the waiter thought Brent was Tom Cruise and two, we were sitting barefoot with our feet in the sand.

Our handsome dates.

Nice try, Bek ;).

The next day was Thanksgiving. Brent took the Beavers up to Seoul Tower while I cooked and then we got to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner together. Lena made us all place cards.

At Seoul Tower.

My boys get real excited about pumpkin pie but don't actually like it. So this year, I made this Pinterest inspired Rice Krispie treat pie.

After a nap, the girls went to get fish pedicures.

And Lena ate more street food. She even loved the red bean paste inside these little fish shaped pastries.

Friday morning Brent took Brady & Bekah hiking and we decided I would stay home with the tired kiddos. This guy.

When they returned, we took them to see Moana on base. An experience itself for us civilians. Before each movie, they play the national anthems of both Korea & the US that you must stand for.

As if we didn't have enough bathroom humor yet, we decided to get dinner at Chicken Toilet.

They weren't opened yet & since it was freezing, we went down the street for chicken elsewhere.

Taking the subway home we found Manjoo.

Little custard filled yumminess.

And just like that, their visit came to an end.

We were sad to see them go. Come back anytime!

Annyeonghigaseyo!
