We have 2 weeks left in the Centennial State. Last week my entire family was here to celebrate the 4th and now we are in let's do one last thing-packing-we're really moving to South Korea mode. So before this computer get boxed up for it's long journey to our new home, I'm posting one more time.
One final camping trip at Rocky Mountain National Park. My little mountain goats trekking to Mills Lake.
Lunch and rock throwing at Mills Lake.
We have looked for a bull moose for the past 2 years. He's a young'en.
One of our favorite campsites we've had- A131.
Day 2 hike. First stop, Nymph Lake.
Brent had hoped to climb Longs Peak this summer. Due to conditions, this might be as close as he gets.
Dream Lake
There was a small herd of elk on the trail between the last 2 lakes. This little one was so cute and playful.
Emerald Lake
Saying hi to the elk again.
Brent and I headed to Buena Vista for a white water rafting trip and we spotted this mama moose and her twins along the way. One time I was peeved I didn't grab my big camera!
Ready to raft The Numbers! Solid class 4s and tons of fun!
Brent's parents made my bear a new sign. They have offered to make one in Korean too if only we would learn what that would look like!
The 22 Howards pose for a decent 4th of July picture. It's a miracle!!
The dozen cousins.
Aunt Rachel loves having girl time with the nieces. Last Thanksgiving, we went to see the Nutcracker ballet. This time we did manis, pedis and blow outs.
New outfits and beautiful girls!
My nephew Luke is obsessed with big horn sheep. I have promised for months to take him to Waterton Canyon to try and spot some. Aunt Rachel Loves Luke a lot because his daddy and I road all 13 miles in the rain to find them! Look towards the top of the picture.
Parent's night out with my brother, sisters and their spouses.
After my brother and sister left, Brent and my dad took off to bag some peaks and add a few fourteeners to Brent's list. This is the summit of Sunshine Peak.
The hike was not pretty at all.
And Handies Peak made number 5, in 3 days. In the end, Shavano, Tabeguache, Sunshine, Red Cloud and Handies were bagged. He has officially set up a 14ers.com profile and is plotting to try and fit in a peak or 2 before we go.
American Basin. This picture will go up in my house. Taken with an iPhone 4s :).
Grandma and I stayed home, along with my sister Sarah and her family. The slip and slide was a hit.
I climbed Chief Mountain with a couple of my friends. Not a 14er, but a great hike with awesome views that I recommend to all.
A family shot on the mansion trail. Capturing our neighborhood before we go.
Colter loves the old windmill off the trail.
The views are the best up here. You can see Pikes Peak, Mt. Evans, Longs Peak, downtown Denver and the Tech Center where Daddy works.
I will show you how we spent our last 2 weeks and said goodbye to our Colorado when we are all settled in Seoul (!).
