The Fifth Month

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and are ready for 2016! This picture was used for our Christmas card this year. I had big plans of posing the boys somewhere that just screamed "Korea" all dressed up, hair relatively neat...but then it rained all weekend. So, I plopped them down in our yard in the wet leaves and demanded that they smile as it drizzled on them &...viola! Ten seconds later, we got this.

Our fifth month has been busy. Busy with exploring, Christmas parties, sick kids, Christmas and a birthday. Enjoy the photos. Feel free to take a break & come back;).

They don't look wet. Only their booties.

A common sight here. I guess better than Quito where we would see an entire family on the bike. Yikes!

It snowed. But not on the first day of December or the first day of winter like Colter expected.

Grant had an adorable Christmas program at his school where he was a "shaggy, smelly sheep" along with the rest of the first and second graders.

Exploring a mall on a cold day. Didn't know Jesus was in the fashion industry.

And just across the street was Bongeunsa Temple.

I love how the old is surrounded by the new.

Then back inside for a Christmas treat.

And a beverage.

Another weekend adventure. First up, bananas & banana holders in the subway vending machine.

Seoul is known for having many themed cafes. You can go enjoy (if you can even say that) a coffee with a bunch of cats.

We were brave enough to try the sheep café. The sheep are not actually inside the restaurant in this café.

I swear we feed them. Sometimes I'm scared for those teenage years.

Chillin' in Hongdae. Probably my favorite Korean pic yet.

Yes we bought the banana holder & Hayden "called" people all day on his phone.

Daddy's street food adventure.

Two boys liked it, 1 did not.

This is a favorite of the boys. But it was too cold to buy!

We checked out Line Friends- a new store with these fun little characters. We later learned that they are popular Japanese emojis.

It was such a fun place. Grant's aunt & uncle are treating us to a little birthday snack in the café, so we're excited to head back.

We finally hiked to the top of Namsan to the Seoul Tower. We live very close to this & you have probably seen it in many of my city view pictures.

The locks are from a Korean show, so everyone places a lock here just like they did on the show. My boys tried to take them off.

These guys put on a neat demonstration then posed for pictures. I thought these 2 in front of us were so cute that I took their picture. Guess I'm becoming a local!

These little boys are pretty cute too.

After the tower, we rode the bus down to Myeongdong for a little sightseeing.

This area is know for all the skin care/beauty stores but we found shoes and clothes too.

Everyone got to pick out some street food.

This was a potato and it's Grant's favorite.

Colter had fried bananas.

Hayden had a churro.

Me too.

And Brent (the more adventurous one) sampled several things. Here he is with this delicious thing. Don't know how to describe it except for a pancake with brown sugar in it.

And we had these too. One of my favorites. Think French toast with an egg baked on it. Yum.

It's my third year to be Grant's class mom and we had a blast at his Christmas party!

Class 2B & some moms.

G had a little early birthday party with a few friends at McDonalds.

Goofballs.

We had to do our traditional looking at Christmas lights a little different this year.

And we saw these lights too. Haha. Please tell me someone else thinks this is funny.

More Christmas viewings at the Hilton.

Korean Santa!

And there was a really cool train.

We were looking for some lunch.

Can't believe this child ate this Iraqi food. Ok, I can't believe I ate it either. It was yummy.

We made our second trip to the ER.

Grant was so sick & his eardrum ruptured later that night. We spent the first week of Christmas break lying low.

The boys got ready for Santa...

...and he came!

These guys are so entertaining!

My baby turned 8. Our annual birthday picture.

He requested a trip to What the Book to spend his Christmas money.

And bowling with the family.

Last night he said this was his best birthday ever. Huge compliment to me & dad.

We take off Friday for a little beach time in Thailand. Sounds like a great way to kick off 2016!
