Our Mini Vacation

OK, so it's hard to call driving an hour and a half away from home a "vacation", but we are. We were supposed to go to Baton Rouge to see Brent's sister, but with the crazy full Mississippi River and the slight chance of flooding we didn't want to risk it- the boys can't swim yet =). Anyway, since this mama needed out of the house, we headed down to Galveston. It was the twins' first hotel stay and the first in a while for Grant. They all 3 did wonderful and Grant could not stop talking about the "ho-tale". (For some reason he decided to adopt quite the southern drawl over the weekend). The weather was great and actually kind of cold. We went to the beach, the Moody Gardens Aquarium and then the Kemah Boardwalk on the way home.

Riding the Red Barron at Kemah. Grant was short enough to have a parent ride with him so I volunteered Daddy. Grant insisted on sitting in the back which is where all the other parents were. Brent could hardly cram in the front!

Grant wanted to play in the splash pad, but didn't want his clothes wet. We were nowhere near the car to get his swim suit so his only option was to put on one of brothers' swim diapers that I still had in the diaper bag (the only reason I offered was because I was sure he would say no). So, yeah, that's our 3 year old potty trained son wearing a diaper strutting around like he owned the place!
